General
Please bear in mind that the Blackfriars Tavern is firstly an adult space where people come to relax, enjoy real ale, cider and other drinks while having a conversation; it is a calm environment for everyone to enjoy, where no-one’s enjoyment should adversely affect others. This applies to all age groups and their dogs. For this reason, we operate a no-swearing policy and we do not tolerate discriminatory speech.
Under 18’s
under 5’s not recommended,
under 11’s until 7pm (as a guide, 45 minutes is often found to be plenty of time for an under 11 year old to be in the pub before they get itchy feet)
under 16 until 8:30pm,
16 and over after 8:30pm at the landlord’s discretion,
as our pub is compact and space is at a premium, we do not recommend prams and pushchairs (except for accessibility reasons) , and for the same reason no scooters or bicycles can be brought into the pub.
Dogs
Our policy on Dogs is that they must be quiet, non-reactive, on a lead and under full control at all times. If your dog sometimes bark’s at strangers, consider a seat away from the front door and not at the bar. Please by mindful of your dog as a potential trip hazard. As a reward we may offer free dog treats.
