Our chosen charity/worth cause this quarter is one which benefits nature. Hatties’ Hedgehog Rescue is a 12 bay Hedgehog Hospital run by an ex James Paget Theatre Manager. They are listed with the British Hedge Preservation Society as providing rescue with veterinary support .
They are a not for profit self funding rescue that provides First Aid, Care & Rehabilitation of Hedgehogs.

Quiz Night 26/08/25- Fully Booked Again!

Hi, just a quick reminder that it’s our monthly quiz night tonight. All chairs and stools inside the pub are fully booked from 7:15pm. If you are intending on visiting this evening and are not booked into the quiz, then the outside area will be open, but it might be best to either come earlier today, or on another day. Normal food service of pies and bowls of chips is also suspended on a quiz night with last order being taken at 6pm, (subject to availability and also being able to clear the orders out to tables by 6:20pm.) We recognise that this may inconvenience a few people, but this is necessary to give the people who have booked into the quiz a quality time. Thank you for your understanding.

Charity Treasure Hunt Winner – Spider!

The Blackfriars Tavern Treasure Hunt Charity Fund Raiser was drawn this week. £74 pounds was raised for the On The Ball Testicular Cancer Charity, and £25 pounds goes to the winning square holder. Two customers selected the winning square (without sight of the sheet) – Ray picked the letter F and Steve picked the number 9.

A new map is up on the wall now, and this time it is for the East Anglian Air Ambulance – give it a go @ £1/square, it could be you!!!
